MPO OS2 patch cord (Multi‑fiber Push‑On) is a multi‑fiber assembly designed for high‑density single‑mode network infrastructure. Using OS2 9/125μm single‑mode fiber (ITU‑T G.652.D), it delivers stable low‑loss performance at 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths, ideal for medium‑to‑long‑reach parallel optical links in modern data centers and telecommunication room.
We supply two major constructions: straight‑through MPO‑MPO trunk patch cord and MPO‑LC / SC fan‑out breakout harness. All assemblies are factory‑tested for insertion loss, return loss, end‑face quality and polarity validation before shipment, to guarantee plug‑and‑drop deployment and reduce on‑site installation time. Compatible with MTP® connectors for flexible inter‑operation.

GEZHI Photonics is a factory of pre-terminated 9/125 OS2 Single Mode MPO trunk cable, which offers the user the advantage of consistent quality, much faster installation, and simpler cable management. The MPO fiber optic trunk cable is suitable for use in 40G QSFP+ transceiver, 100G QSFP28, 400G OSFP, 400G QSFP parallel transceiver optics connection. Each MPO OS2 fiber cable has passed the test of Insertion Loss & Return Loss,End-face Inspection, and Polarity Check in the factory, ensuring complies and exceeds industry standards.

To properly send data over fiber cable, a link’s transmit signal (Tx) at one end of the cable must match the corresponding receiver (Rx) at the other end. And the role of polarity, which defines the direction that the signal travels, is to make sure that this correspondence is maintained. Fiber polarity is one area that seems to cause a lot of confusion in our industry – especially when it comes to multifiber MPO solutions used in parallel optic applications.
MPO connectors also include a key on the top side of the connector and a white dot on the side to indicate the location of Position 1. The orientation of the key is critical when it comes to polarity.
There are also three different types of MPO cables – Type A, Type B and Type C as below pictures:

The MPO interfaces on active equipment are male (with pins), and to avoid damage to the transceiver, MPO patch cords should be female (without pins).
|
Male (with pins) The male connector is mated to the female side for adapters, cassettes or panels connection. |
Female (without pins) The female connector can be directly connected to transceivers or other male connectors. |

A: MTP® is a registered enhanced version of MPO connector. Physically they are interoperable and can plug into each other directly.
A: For single‑mode high‑speed links, APC is recommended for higher return‑loss performance to avoid signal reflection issues.
A: Polarity Type A/B/C must match your transceivers and MPO cassettes. Please confirm polarity requirement before ordering. Never connect male‑to‑male MPO connectors.
A: Yes, we support fully customized length, fiber count, breakout type and jacket rating for bulk order and sample request.
