Product Description
MPO OM3 Patch Cord, Multimode 50/125μm MPO/MTP Fiber Optic Patch Cord
Product Overview

MPO OM3 patch cord (Multi‑fiber Push‑On) is multi‑fiber assembly built for high‑density short‑reach multimode network infrastructure. Adopting OM3 laser‑optimized 50/125μm multimode fiber with 2000 MHz·km bandwidth at 850nm wavelength, it delivers stable performance for VCSEL‑based 40G‑SR4, 100G‑SR4 transceivers within short distance reach.

We supply two major constructions: straight‑through MPO‑MPO trunk patch cord and MPO‑LC / SC fan‑out breakout harness. All cables are 100% factory‑tested for insertion loss, return loss, end‑face quality and polarity validation before shipment, to realize plug‑and‑play deployment and reduce on‑site installation time. Physically interoperable with MTP® connectors for flexible network interconnection.

Applications
  1. High‑density data center pre‑terminated multimode cabling system
  2. 40G /100G SR4 short‑reach parallel optical interconnection
  3. MPO cassette, MPO patch panel, inter‑rack fiber cross‑connect links
  4. Server room, colocation facility, enterprise high‑speed LAN backbone
  5. Storage area network(SAN), cloud computing infrastructure
  6. QSFP+, QSFP28 multimode transceiver interconnection
Key Features
  • OM3 Multimode 50/125μm laser‑optimized fiber, aqua cable jacket
  • Fiber count: 8‑core,12‑core,24‑core, custom fiber count available
  • Polish type: MPO‑UPC (multimode standard, return loss ≥30dB)
  • Polarity: Type A, Type B, Type C to match your network design
  • Male (pinned) / Female (pin‑less) MPO connector options
  • Jacket: LSZH low‑smoke zero‑halogen or OFNP plenum rated

About Us

Our MPO OM3 Patch Cord is laser‑optimized multimode pre‑terminated fiber trunk cable with 50/125μm OM3 fiber, aqua jacket. Available in MPO‑MPO trunk and MPO‑LC fan‑out breakout versions, supporting 40G,100G SR4 short‑reach parallel optical transmission for high‑density data center and enterprise network deployment. Custom fiber count, polarity, jacket material and length are supported.

Our Serves
1. Custom Fiber Count
8 Fibers
used for 40G/100G QSFP+/QSFP28 direct connection.
12-144 Fibers
used for 10G/40G/100G high-denisty structural fiber cabling.
格致 应用?.jpg 格致 应用?.jpg
2. Custom Polarity

To properly send data over fiber cable, a link’s transmit signal (Tx) at one end of the cable must match the corresponding receiver (Rx) at the other end. And the role of polarity, which defines the direction that the signal travels, is to make sure that this correspondence is maintained. Fiber polarity is one area that seems to cause a lot of confusion in our industry – especially when it comes to multifiber MPO solutions used in parallel optic applications.

MPO connectors also include a key on the top side of the connector and a white dot on the side to indicate the location of Position 1. The orientation of the key is critical when it comes to polarity.

There are also three different types of MPO cables – Type A, Type B and Type C as below pictures:

MPO patchcor polarity1.jpg

3. Custom Connectors

The MPO interfaces on active equipment are male (with pins), and to avoid damage to the transceiver, MPO patch cords should be female (without pins).

Male (with pins)

The male connector is mated to the female side for adapters, cassettes or panels connection.

Female (without pins)

The female connector can be directly connected to transceivers or other male connectors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the maximum transmission distance for MPO OM3 cable?

A: OM3 multimode supports 40G‑SR4 up to 100 meters, 100G‑SR4 up to 70 meters at 850nm wavelength. For longer reach, please select OM4 or OS2 single‑mode fiber.

Q: Can MPO OM3 use APC end face?

A: Multimode applications mostly adopt UPC polish. APC is mainly designed for single‑mode fiber, APC is not recommended for OM3 multimode links.

Q: What polarity do I need for MPO OM3 patch cord?

A: Polarity Type A/B/C must match your transceivers and MPO cassettes. Confirm polarity requirement before placing orders. Never connect male‑to‑male MPO connectors, which will damage connector pins.

Q: MPO vs MTP, are they compatible?

A: MTP® is enhanced registered version of MPO connector. MPO and MTP are physically interoperable and can plug into each other directly.

Q: Do you support custom length and bulk orders?

A: Yes, custom length, fiber count, breakout type and jacket rating are available for sample and bulk orders.
